Lightsabers at Grand Canal Dock

This is a re-edited image of a shot I took of Howth Harbour Lighthouse at dawn, in August 2013. This was taken in Howth, Co. Dublin, Ireland.

The shot was taken with a Nikon D800 camera using a Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 lens with Hoya ND400 filter attached.
Today I worked with the levels to bring more colour into the shot, particularly with stronger oranges, purples and blues.

The Long Exposure of Samuel Beckett Part 2
A long exposure shot of the Samuel Beckett Bridge and the Dublin Convention Centre in Dublin, Ireland.

This shot was taken using a Nikon D810 camera with a Nikkor 16-35mm f/4 wide angle lens. I was able to create the long exposure using a Lee Filters Big Stopper along with one of their .9 ND Filters. I adjusted the colour, clarity and contrast levels in Adobe Lightroom 5.

Dublin City Centre at Night
A Long Exposure night shot of Dublin city centre. Here you can see O'Connell Bridge that spans the River Liffey, as well as the landmark O'Connell Bridge House which is illuminated by the large Heineken sign that runs down the front. The light trails are coming from the famous yellow double decks of Dublin Bus.

With the bright lights coming from the fortress and the dark shadows of the rocks, it would have been nearly impossible to pull off this sort of shot with just 1 exposure. The photo was taken using a Nikon D810 camera with a Nikkor 16-35mm f/4 lens. It was edited using DXO Pro Optics 10, Photomatix Pro 5, Adobe Lightroom 5, and Topaz Labs DeNoise 5.

Fortress Lovrijenac overlooking Adriatic

Fortress Lovrijenac dates back to between 1018 to 1038, although first records of the forts existence are from 1301 when the council voted on the Commander of the Fort. This detached fortress served as defence against attack from land and sea and was manned by a 25 man garrison and a Commander of the Fort. It has often been used as a backdrop in scenes filmed for HBO's Game of Thrones TV series.

This is a long exposure shot taken with a Nikon D810 camera, using a Nikkor 16-35mm f/4 wide angle lens. The long exposure was created using a Lee Big Stopper Filter. The shot was edited using DXO Pro Optics 10, Adobe Lightroom 5 and Topaz Labs DeNoise 5.

Multi coloured Kayaks sit at the base of the city walls in Dubrovnik Old Town, Croatia. The circular part of the wall is known as "Fort Bokar" or "Zvjezdan". It was built as one of the key defences of the city, between 1461 to 1463 whilst the city walls were being reconstructed. This part of the walls has been used numerous times during the filming of HBO's Game of Thrones TV series, most notably in season 2, where Tyrion and Lord Varys planned the defence of King's Landing during the Battle of Blackwater.

A long exposure night shot of Tower Bridge taken from Maggie Blake's Cause in London, England. Maggie Blake's Cause is a small alleyway connecting Shad Thames with the riverfront alongside Butler's Wharf. Maggie Blake was a local community activist who, along with other Bermondsey residents, campaigned to retain access to the riverfront which had been threatened in the 1980's and 1990's from redevelopment of the area. Maggie Blake won the "cause" (hense the name), and we are still able to enjoy this stunning view of Tower Bridge.

An HDR shot of ominous dark clouds rolling over Dún Laoghaire and the Ferry Terminal. The shot was taken from Dún Laoghaire Harbour East pier in Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, Ireland.

The shot was taken using a Nikon D810 camera with a Nikkor 16-35mm f/4 lens and a 0.9 Lee ND Grad Filter. I created 4 different exposures from the same shot using Photoshop CS6 and then processed into HDR using Photomatix Pro 5, and finished off using Adobe Lightroom 5.

A view of Mussenden Temple from Downhill Beach in County Derry, Northern Ireland. The waves to the left are coming from the Atlantic Ocean. The train tunnel can be seen running directly underneath the temple. Fans of Game of Thrones might recognise the location from Episode 1 of Season 2, "The North Remembers". It was here on Dragonstone that Melisandre burnt the wooden statues of The Seven Gods, as an offering to the Lord of Light.

NIKD4s - Triton Lake HDR - 19042014
This is a shot of Triton Lake in Powerscourt Estate, County Wicklow, Ireland. The lake forms the main attraction of the Italian Gardens part of the Estate. The fountain in the middle of the lake is based on the fountain in the Piazza Barberini in Rome.

This photo was taken using a Nikon D4s DSLR with a Nikon 24mm f/1.4 wide angle lens. The photo was first imported into DXO Pro Optics 9 to iron out any small anomalies, it was then taken into Photoshop CS6 where I created 5 different exposures (-2 through +5) out of a single image. From there I merged the images into 1 HDR file using Photomatix Pro 5, then I applied a filter to the HDR image using Topaz Labs Clarity. Finally, I amended the levels slightly using Lightroom 5.

NIKD4s - Lough Tay HDR - 19042014
This is a shot of Lough Tay in County Wicklow, Ireland. Lough Tay is commonly referred to as the Guinness Lake due to its resemblance to a pint of Guinness. The northern part of the coastline is owned by the Guinness family, who imported white sand to create the effect of the head on a Guinness.

This photo was taken using a Nikon D4s DSLR with a Nikon 24mm f/1.4 wide angle lens. The photo was first imported into DXO Pro Optics 9 to iron out any small anomalies, it was then taken into Photoshop CS6 where I created 5 different exposures (-2 through +5) out of a single image. From there I merged the images into 1 HDR file using Photomatix Pro 5, then I applied a filter to the HDR image using Topaz Labs Clarity. Finally, I amended the levels slightly using Lightroom 5.
